Katniss found solace in the woods that she couldn't find elsewhere. Losing Ash was a blow that she hadn't been prepared for. After three years in this town, she'd let her guard down, let people in, and now she was suffering for that by having someone important to her taken away without warning. Again. She new she needed to pull herself together for Prim's sake, knew she needed to be grateful that her sister was still here and safe, but she also needed time to grieve for what she'd lost.
It wasn't anything unusual to run into other people in the woods. There were plenty of hunters and werewolves and others who preferred the quiet solitude that could be found among the trees. When she heard someone call out, she stepped through a thicket so she'd be visible.
"Katniss," she replied, relieved to realize she recognized the person the voice belonged to. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."
Bellamy was someone that she'd been friendly with in the past, though he'd come and gone a few times.
