That was probably it. George wasn't a great user of the networks, but he did read occasionally, did post as frequently. The technology behind it was simply amazing. Radio signals or something. Wireless telegraph but also telephone. He didn't even have all the concepts to completely describe it, but always wondered what Detective Murdoch would have to say about it all.
"Oh if you don't mind, certainly," he said as he settled himself onto the grass with her. And because it was polite to do so added, "I'm Constable George Crabtree; and I believe we have yes."
Then: "Yes ma'am, I do. Toronto. Well. Newfoundland for most of my boyhood," hence the odd accent, "but Toronto born and I've made my life there now."
