It had been hard on Thalia when Buffy had been sent home. They'd become best friends - almost sisters - and it'd hurt when Buffy had returned with no memory of her whatsoever.
Thalia had given her space, and was happy when Buffy had suggested being shown the riverside. She tried not to pin too much of her hopes on it, though. It was clear that this Buffy who'd returned was an older Buffy, one who'd seen more sorrow in her world and was more jaded for it. Hopefully there was still enough of the carefree, big-hearted girl in there for Thalia to connect to.
She was at the gelato shop early, as usual. She'd never gotten out of the habit of arriving early to case out a joint, although she hadn't had to steal anything for a long time now.
When Buffy arrived, she waved to catch the blonde's attention. "Hey! They've got a bunch of new flavors."
