WHO: Luna Lovegood and OPEN WHAT: Making the choice not to be afraid WHEN: Wednesday morning WHERE: Downtown WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open/Ongoing
The whole town was in an uproar over this demon who was on the loose. Luna had heard he'd hurt a lot of people, some really badly. Some who might not make it. That was terrible, obviously. There was no other way to look at it. And understandably, a whole lot of people in town were afraid right now, worrying that they might be next.
Luna, on the other hand, wasn't.
No, she wasn't naive enough to think that there wasn't any danger. She knew that there was. She lived through the war, and she'd lost people she loved. She knew quite well how danger could come out of the shadows and disappear back into them in seconds, leaving only grief in its wake. She remembered the radio broadcasts of all the witches and wizards who died.
And she knew that fear was what fed these creatures, these evil and treacherous people. And she refused to be afraid. Being afraid was letting them win.
That was why she'd gone for her normal walk this morning, and was now windowshopping. There were a lot fewer people out than normal, but that just made her little outing a little less crowded, and she didn't mind that.
