Dwight & Peppers
He had gotten her a corsage. A wrist one no less. With miniature white roses, greens, and pearls. It seemed to be something Pepper would wear, and he thought it had gone well with her dress of choice.
Truthfully, this was still new territory for Dwight. A means to a normal life - a happy life - along with a place without Troubles.
Prom.
Lots of things, but Dwight was alright with it all. He was doing pretty damn good with living like this. Pepper had helped with that. Cheesy as it was, it was true. The idea of having anything worth being happy about was comforting. The idea that they shared a lot of complications in their past made it all better.
"At least I know you didn't go off to the bathroom to get away from me," he teased, coming up beside her and placed his arm around her waist. "I hear that happens at proms. Either that or girls pile into bathrooms for...other girl reasons." Like chattering about dates, crying over dates, and other things that guys - Dwight - didn't understand.
