Sometimes Murphy had bright ideas. He wasn't a moron, after all. He was a good bit smarter than most people gave him credit for.
And then sometimes he wondered at those ideas.
Like now, when he was out shopping, with Aurelia in tow. Because at thirteen months old, the little girl was strong on the desire to walk but not so much with the ability to. She kept insisting on trying it -- so of course he would let her -- but she did a lot more plunking down on her diapered butt than anything else. All the same, like he was going to tell her no?
As he passed by the bakery, he noticed the woman looking at cakes. "Picking out a cake sucks, man," was his opinion. "So many decisions to make if it's for something really important."
