Archie had arrived a few minutes before six. He didn't want to be late, but he didn't want to be right on time. It was complicated when it came to guys arriving. One thing Archie had done, though, was to leave a note for Sue. Since he had begun living with Sue, Archie had been happier than he had been in a while. There were no complications lingering from Riverdale, no stress from everything that was happening there. Sue supported him in all of his endeavors. It was nice. Did he feel guilty about it? On a daily basis, but he knew there wasn't much he could about the situation he was in. He knew his Dad would want him to be safe, and he was. He was beginning to thrive, and Archie knew his Dad would want that as well.
He had gotten a booth, ordered himself a shake and a basket of fries. There were plenty for Emily once she arrived, but he didn't want to order too much before she did. In truth, ordering the basket of fries was something he always did at Pop's if he was waiting for Jughead or Betty. Then they would order their usuals. It was a small reminder that, regardless of where he was, you couldn't take the Riverdale out of Archie Andrews.
He had no idea what to expect when it came to Debate Club. It wasn't something he would have took an interest in back home, but this was all about trying new things. Meeting new people. Emily was nice, and she immediately welcomed him to try about this debate routine. It helped, of course, that she was cute. Maybe it was the red hair?
Sitting back in the booth, Archie grinned down at the chocolate shake that was slowly getting lower and lower. It wasn't Pop's, but it was as close as he could get.
