Who: Clint Barton and Methos
What: Methos the pincushion OR Clint utters “Uh oh”
When: Tuesday
Where: Park
Warnings: Violence
Status: Closed/incomplete

Some guy was running amok in town kidnapping people for who knew what reason. People were freaking out. One of those people was a close personal friend of Clint’s, and he didn’t like anyone who took kids. The Hawk went on the hunt.

The hunt turned out to be frustrating. This Methos guy was elusive when he wanted to be. Clint had to resort to using tactics he hadn’t had to use since he hunted Nat. Methos was good, but Nat was better and Clint had managed to find her. Eventually, he found Methos, too.

From his perch in a tree with a clear line of sight on a little used path of the park he saw him. Clint wasn’t fazed by how the guy looked. He just drew his arrow, sighted for a kill shot and let fly.

Methos had stopped for a moment to watch one of the unfamiliar vehicles that was going by when the arrow hit him. He let out a silent snarl at the sight of the arrow sticking out of his chest. Even though he knew it would kill him he snapped the head off and shoved the shaft back out of his chest.

It was followed by a gout of blood now that it wasn't blocking the severed heart chamber but he wouldn't heal with it in him and he didn't know if the enemy would be stupid enough to take it out.

Then he collapsed bonelessly on the ground.

Huh. That was easy. Too easy. Clint wasn't so lured in by the possum trick...and he'd seen too many horror flicks to buy into this. With a frown on his face he drew again and shot another arrow into the back of the guy's thigh. Now to see if he twitches.

Since Methos was still dead at the moment he didn't twitch. But he was going to be seriously pissed off when he woke up and had an arrow in his leg after having to yank out out of his chest.

Well all right then. Clint put his phone on speech to text to put a call out on the net. "Hawkeye to anyone of interest. Methos the Hun is down. Repeat. Methos is down."

Clint dropped out of the tree with his bow still in his hand then walked toward the corpse.

Clint had just got to the corpse and was standing over it when it suddenly dragged in a breath and opened its eyes just before Methos kicked out hard trying to put the other man on the ground. A bow was mostly useful from a distance and when you weren't on the ground.

"Shit!" Clint jumped to dodge but he hadn't been expecting the kick. Methos' foot clipped him and he ended up doing an awkward side roll/fall. Being an Avenger meant something, however. The maneuver brought him back up on one knee. He drew another arrow and fired without being able to aim his shot too much.

Of all things Methos was saved from taking another arrow by the one that had been put in his leg. When he was trying to get to his feet it made the muscles cut out which made the arrow go over his head. Since he was still on his own knee he scraped up a handful of dirt and threw it at the man to give him a second to yank the arrow out with a curse at the pain.

This guy was going with all the cliches. The problem was that they were cliches because they worked. Clint had to duck the dirt, but he used it to get on the move. Staying in one place was a really bad idea, and he needed distance.

If he had something better than dirt he would have thrown that instead but dirt worked. Even if it wasn't going to hurt you a person tended to duck it. Now that he had the arrow out he pushed himself to his feet to run straight at the man before he could get that distance.

At the same time he drew his sword.

He tapped the blutooth earpiece as he moved. "Hawkeye to anyone! Methos is NOT down! Repeat! He is definitely not. Down!"

Clint saw Methos coming for him...with a freaking sword?!...and prepared to an up close and personal fight. A bow could be used as a club too.

Methos wasn't a Natasha when it came to fighting but he was someone who had spent the last thousand years fighting. Raiders, superstitious nomads, every other immortal that came after his head and the continual battles of the Horsemen.

And he was amazing with this new sword. It was stronger and lighter than any he'd ever used before. This steel that he'd never seen before was so much better than bronze.

"I don't go down. I am Death." First order of business was to take that bow out of action. And that meant targeting the arm instead of the bow.

Clint expected Methos to go for the bow which meant the sword sliced open his bicep nicely. The Hawk grunted as he gave the bow a little toss into the other hand then swung it at Methos' head.

He ducked but still caught part of the blow on the side of his head. The way he healed kept it from doing more than briefly making him see stars. It was still annoying.

He'd drawn his sword but the arrow he pulled out of his leg was still in his other hand. So Methos decided to give it back to its owner. Using it like a dagger he aimed to put the cut arm out of commission by putting the arrow through it.

It wasn't the first time Clint had taken an arrow, not even his own arrow. But it still hurt like a bitch going into his shoulder. He swore as he felt his arm go limp, and he was done holding back on this asshole.

One roundhouse kick coming up.

His definition of holding back was shaky considering he'd opened by trying to kill him. Methos didn't want to stick around, he'd been yelling he wasn't down although he wasn't sure who he was yelling to but there was too much commotion and he'd have to leave a trail of bodies on his way out at this rate.

Not that he cared about killing them he just cared about the possibility of it getting him caught.

Methos managed to partially deflect the kick with a grunt of effort and then reached forward to yank the arrow back out of Clint's arm. He would bleed out before too long and even if he managed to stop the bleeding before he died the blood poisoning would kill him within days.

Methos had no conception of modern medicine. He'd be pissed off later at his assumptions.

That hadn't felt good. Nothing was feeling good at the moment. As a matter of fact his head began swimming and he felt his legs turn into limp noodles. Shit. He knew what that meant. He needed help. Fast.

He wasn't calling in backup until he was certain Methos was going to stay or go, however. He didn't want his friends walking into a trap with him as bait. So Clint glared at Methos through blurring vision as he fell to his knees.

Methos knew a dying man when he saw him. With a smirk he wiped the blood off his sword and sheathed it as he turned to walk away and leave him there. It would do the ones looking for him good to find the lifeless body.

Clint felt relief push through him when Methos walked away. A breath left him then he activated the blutooth one more time.

"...Hawkeye down...re-peat. Hawkeye. Down."

Then he fell down for real and hoped someone was on the way.
