Who: Nick Sorrentino and Kate Danvers What: post kid conversations When: Thursday afternoon Where: The Little Pack House Warnings: TBD Status: Closed/On-Going
Nick and Kate had both seen kids invading the house enough times to know that it wouldn’t last, to be ready for when it did. But somehow, this time was different. Maybe because it had been so long since it had last happened, long enough that just maybe Nick had changed a little bit without realizing it, maybe it was that this time they’d wound up with two, and the little girl named after the mother he’d never gotten the chance to know had gotten to him in a completely different way than the son he’d never been able to show his father.
Whatever the reason, it was different.
He’d avoided thinking about it for the morning, ducking out to work without much more than noticing that they’d gone back to wherever they came from. He’d gone to work like any other Thursday and had tried not to admit that maybe this time he sort of missed the idea of the kids. Kids that were his kids. That sounded a lot like a responsibility that he wasn’t looking for but all the same.
Coming home, he looked around the little living room, at Rocco’s stuff strewn all over the place, and was oddly confused about how he felt about the whole thing.
