Jane & Darcy
"You couldn't screw her up, Darce," Jane replied. It hadn't even been a thought in her head that Darcy wasn't fit for motherhood. "You didn't screw me up, after all." She chuckled a little at that, but it was true. Darcy had been, among other things, her keeper, and that meant making sure she went to bed, ate, dressed, showered, all of that stuff. After just a few days with Elizabet, she could appreciate a lot more all the work that went in to minding a kid.
"And you managed to keep all of her Aunts and Uncles in line, too. Not too spoiled, definitely a good kid." Jane scanned the crowd for Stephanie since they were talking about her. "Where'd she get to, anyway? I want to see if she'll give me any tips on how to pick better gifts than Steve." She was mostly joking at that, but it was better than asking about Elizabet and Ty and the things that really could change the course of events.
"Is it unusual for people to only have one kid show up?"
