Ella & kids + Sonya & Cassie
"Hardly," she assured her friend. They had some different opinions on what constituted taking it easy, and what role she had in tending to house and home, but Ella valued Sonya's friendship. Cassie's company was always welcome around the house as well, more so even now that there were children for her to play with. "You are both always welcome, and I would imagine Cassie might be happier to pass the time here with others her age."
Ella worried that maybe she didn't do enough, especially considering that she was doing far less baking and cooking for her friends than she had been before. "I am, though it pains me so. I am grateful that my friends are so understanding." She glanced over at her children once more. "It is rather odd, seeing the teenager my son will grow up to be," Ella admitted, letting her arms wrap around her protruding stomach. "He's turned into a lovely young man."
