Presto smiled as he ran, letting his body adjust to the pace, the feel of it filling him as his feet hit the path. He had been running here in Madison Valley ever since he arrived, keeping his body up and in shape with voluntary running since he no longer had to run for his life. But he had no clue if he would ever be whisked away again, and so he ran. And he did it regularly.
He smiled as he ran, letting the power fill him, because that was the other part of it. He had targets set up at different points in the track, and he set them to moving with a magical signal as he ran, so that as he came around a turn, a piece of log shot out of left field at him, on an unpredictable course. He altered his step, leaping off of the side of a stump, and let the shift turn him so he face the log piece, eyes shimmering as his voice rose in a chant.
Green energy shot from his eyes to slam into the wood and it shattered, turning to seedlings and falling to the freshly rained on earth below. He ran on, dispatching other targets similarly, until he finally came to a resting point, winded, and slumped to a log to breathe, and stretch and relax for a moment.
And to realize that someone else was moving in the woods, as his internal alarms went off. Forcing himself to sit straight, he smiled, hoping it was not hostile company.
