Reyna hadn't been so much avoiding Luke Castellan as she was simply not making any effort whatsoever to be around him. There was no reason to. Jason's hatred of Luke was a matter of principle: as if his very existence marred the purity by which he conducted himself. But Reyna's view of morality was much more flexible. She understood how circumstances could drive an otherwise good person to do terrible things.
That still didn't mean she had anything to talk to him about, however. Luke was here, he wasn't causing trouble, and therefore Reyna didn't have to think about him.
Except when he'd nearly run her over with his cart, and was looking at her as if she would smite him right then and there. Luke Castellan, traitor to the Gods, slayer of his brethren, host of Kronos, was afraid of her.
"Your tampons are falling out of your cart," she said. Because apparently the traitor to the Gods was errand boy to his wife. Reyna suddenly wondered what Jason would think if he saw Luke now. It was hard to hate someone who was willing to buy feminine products without shame.
