Which was her tactful way of asking if he was actually employed by being a singer or if he had to make his money elsewhere.
"Well, you're right there. It's crazy to think that there's one person out there ever for us. Especially when it comes to this place." Because how could they possibly guarantee that them and their soulmates would show up in Madison Valley together? And wouldn't that be cruel, for them to show up in town from another world or universe or whatever, so that they'd never be together outside of their prison sentence. "I bet you'd sound even better if you actually believed what it was you were singing."
