With all the Valentine's Day celebrations and all the hate, Primrose found herself a bit overwhelmed by it all. It seemed most people fell in one direction or another: they were either happy and in a relationship or they were miserable and single with a good degree of bitterness. Primrose, on the other hand, found she lingered in the middle ground. She didn't really hate the holiday. While other girls her age were all over the topic of having boyfriends, Primrose was content with friendship with the opposite sex, at least for the moment. It all seemed silly to Prim, but this could have also been due to the fact that in her world, one didn't really have time for love. The act of friendship was even tricky. In a time where anyone could die in an instant, relationships were gamble. Here, it seemed to be the norm and a constant topic of conversation. Primrose didn't mind it, but sometimes it lingered on the verge of obnoxious and all Primrose wanted to do was to be left in peace...preferably with a member of the animal community. Animals were just so much simpler and Primrose liked the uncomplicated once and awhile, especially on a holiday that seemed consumed by complicated.
After school, the blond took the light trek to the farm and slipped into the barn. Wanda already knew she was coming and Alex did too. She figured they would be around eventually and then maybe she would get to meet Helga too. Inhaling the rich smell of manure, must, and hay, the blond set down her back pack. Perhaps later on, she would engage in some homework, but for now, she was merely revealing in the comforting presence the animals provided to her.
