He was tempted to help her up when he saw her struggling, but he didn't feel like a fight this early in the morning-not more than there already was. There was a moment when he held his breath till she righted herself.
"I deliver fish to the bistro several times a week, yes." Really depending on how they were biting, but technicalities.
All of this still didn't explain how she got there. A date was one thing, but to sleep with a pregnant woman he just met seemed dishonorable. "Whatever's going on, let me make you something to eat before you go."
There was a slight grumble to his voice. He was just as confused as she was and wasn't entirely crazy about the whole thing, but even so he couldn't just let her leave without getting her something to eat.
