For Kit, a prince of regal nobility, he could have what he wanted. Granted, he had ended up in a town called Madison Valley, but he was making the most out of everything.
However, he didn’t know whom he had ended up in bed with, since he was in some sort of farmhouse. But it was best to wake this sleeping beauty up.
“Good morning,” he told the young lady next to him, trying to piece things together. At least he managed to bed someone who was rather attractive looking.

Ella was fast asleep, curled up on her side with one hand resting protectively around the swell of her belly. It took her a moment to register that the person waking her up was next to her in bed. That startled her something terribly, her heart beating frantically in her chest as she sat up.
"Who-? When did you-? How-?" She couldn't quite manage an actual question, although as she looked around, Ella noticed the pregnancy books and wedding bands - her mother's set - on the nightstand next to her. How had she ended up in bed with a stranger? That was when it all really clicked and she hastily pulled the sheets up to cover herself.

“I don’t know,” Kit told the maiden, clearly in shock over it all, especially with the ring on his hand and the books. Was some sort of trick at play. That was clearly a given.
“I don’t even know you. Besides when I saw you at the hunt,” he told her, maybe that’s where he was when he got pulled into Madison Valley as he pulled himself out of the bed. “But since I am a man of honor, I shall leave so you can have your privacy.”
The news that this woman was pregnant still hadn’t clicked in yet.

Kit, he had said his name was. In her confusion, she'd forgotten his name and their encounter, but she recalled in easily once he reminded her. Ella had liked him, had hoped their paths would cross again, but this wasn't quite what she had in mind. He said he would leave her to her privacy, for which she was grateful. Once he was out of the room, she carefully climbed out of bed and headed to the closet. It was her clothing style, but there were also numerous items belonging to a man. Ella was very nervous about all of this, since she only remembered staying in the designated apartment she'd been given when she'd first arrived.
Unwilling to force him to stay in his pajamas for any longer than necessary, Ella changed into her familiar blue dress, the soft fabric well worn. As she did up the laces, she realized she was a bit bloated in her middle and looked over at the pregnancy book, horrified. Had she gotten pregnant out of wedlock? Was Kit the father? How far along was she? It was a snap decision, but it took only a moment for her to hide the pregnancy book and her mother's wedding set in the nightstand drawer. She could sort this out easily enough without ruining his reputation.
With that done and now that she was dressed, Ella took a fortifying breath and then smiled before opening the door. All told, it had only been about 10 minutes since he'd left in the first place. "I believe there is clothing for you in the closet," she informed him. "I did not intend to trespass upon your hospitality kind sir." Ella wasn't really sure what to do with herself and it showed in her expression.

Kit knew his lot in life, he’d be thrust upon some princess and forced to marry heirs. Granted, there were no princesses here. He did remember the apartments, but not much more than that. And after she dressed, Kit did the same, even if the garb felt a bit modern. He hadn’t paid any note to any ring on his hand or anything of the sort. But he knew the proper thing to do was apologize.
“I’m so sorry for the intrusion,” he told her, “but I do appreciate your kindness.”
***
He was apologizing to her. That was undeserved, certainly. "It is an unusual situation we find ourselves in," Ella replied understandingly. Why was he apologizing to her? This was clearly her fault somehow. A kind, honorable man such as her apprentice friend could do no wrong. "I believe it is I who is the intrusion, sir." She took another step back to give him space. She was but a lowly serving girl, after all. Apprentices were of a higher station.
"Shall I- make breakfast for you, sir?" There was no staff to be seen, so perhaps she was the staff? Though why they would have been in bed together was baffling. The kind of men who used their servants for those kinds of needs never cuddled afterward, nor shared their space.

Kit had no clue as to why he was apologizing to some peasant girl who was beneath him, but he felt compelled to. “It really is, hopefully we shan’t find ourselves in such an awkward scenario again,” he told her before she made her proposition.
“As much as I appreciate your offer, I’ll get something from one of the local eateries,” he told Ella as he stood up to leave. “But I shall take my leave now.”
Since he was going to need some fresh air.

Ella felt the dismissal quite keenly and she wasn't sure why. "Good day, sir," she replied, curtsying as was proper. Something was very wrong indeed, but Wanda would know what to do and the Farmhouse was just down the road. She'd walked past this house often enough, getting to her friend's home.
Something terrible was truly going on. How on Earth had she gotten pregnant? She recalled none of it and it shook her to her very core. Ella was careful to keep all of it under wraps as she shut the door behind Kit, but once the barrier was between them, she stifled a sob. Something was very wrong indeed.
