It was the last football game of the season. The championship. The Superbowl. If you ran the numbers the amount of money that got crammed into a single stadium between the players’ paychecks, the owners’ profits, the disturbing amount spent on commercials, memorabilia, tickets, food…the national debt could be resolved and still have enough left over to feed several third world countries for a dozen years. The Roman Coliseum had nothing on American football. It was one of the few guilty pleasures Maria had so of course she was hosting a Superbowl party.
She’d gone all out having learned a thing or two from Pepper when she’d helped Maria with her New Year’s Eve party. There was liquor, mixers and beer along with various juices and soda for those who didn’t imbibe. Snacks and dips of all kinds. There was a tv in every room that people were allowed to be in…except the bathroom because that would be too weird. And the hostess herself mingled around.
