Who: Harry Dresden and Dorothy Gale What: Random Encounter When: Saturday Where: Out and about Warnings: Not likely Status: Closed, Match Up
She had been in Madison Valley two weeks already. Two weeks without any sign of anyone she knew, save Toto. The German Shepherd stayed close to her, and Dorothy knew he could be a vicious protector if challenged. He didn't like when she left him behind, so she allowed him to be with her whenever possible.
Saturday morning was no exception. She needed to pick up some food, both for herself and for Toto, but she could do that later. She decided to go out and explore for a while first, and did so with Toto by her side. The dog, though police trained and strictly obedient, enjoyed the freedom to run and play, barking happily as Dorothy threw sticks for him to chase down and bring back to her.
"Where did you get that?" she asked him when instead of a stick, he returned with a tennis ball. Shrugging, she took the ball from Toto and threw it, sending the canine bounding after it, and right into the path of someone walking toward them. She cringed, hoping Toto wouldn't crash into the guy.
