The library had no direct program with the school not outside of the summer, but there were always a number of children in on Saturday. Some time ago, Athelstan decided to wear his more traditional clothes from home, some of the children started to ask questions , and after that it was an impromptu lessons on norse while he wasn't sorting books or orders.
He was leaning against the table in the children's section, a few kids sitting in various chairs around them. Some were more focused on the dvds or books they were given, but most were looking at him.
He wasn't about to bore them with poetry, even the men back home didn't care for them. The Sagas however, those got their attention.
"Now, you may not believe this, but the god Thor, as most Aesir were capable of changing his image."
"Why didn't he change when he was made to marry the giant?"
He laughed; it was a good question. "Because, if you recall, he didn't even like the idea of dressing up as a woman, let alone taking the form of one. Now, this story takes place after Thor, Loki and the children were tricked into the contests. When Thor found he'd lost to the World serpent, well, you can imagine he wanted a rematch."
"What about Ragnarok?" Another child. Athelstan had to remind himself that this wasn't home-no one recalled such a story with the same amount of trepidation as they did back home.
"You let me tell the story and I'll get to that." He said, putting to rest any other questons. Not that he really expected them to keep quiet, not even those back home kept silent for skalds.
