Gale took a step back, and looked over the spread they had on the counters and the stove. And there was more in the fridge. He blinked a couple times. "This much food would have fed my family for a month," he said. Never mind that it would have gone bad in that time.
It was enough of a thought to make him feel half sick. But he swallowed it down. He wasn't in Panem anymore. And things were better now. He could be reasonably sure his family wasn't going to starve.
"I wish they could be here to experience this kind of feast," he said softly.
