WHO: Thomas and OPEN WHAT: Thinking and reading WHEN: Tuesday afternoon WHERE: The Library WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open/Ongoing
As much as Thomas hated to admit it, Madison Valley had become more a home to him than he'd ever known. There was, of course, the fact that he couldn't remember the home where he lived with his parents, but in what was left of his memory, this was the place where he'd been longest, where he'd been the happiest, and where he belonged the most.
Not that that was saying much, really.
He felt guilty for that, knowing that his friends were suffering back home. But he couldn't change it. He couldn't suddenly find himself back home. There wasn't a way to get home, no matter how much he wanted to. He was stuck here, in this place. So was there any good reason why he shouldn't enjoy it? He didn't have anyone like Lydia back home. The only girl he'd cared about (or he thought he'd cared about) had betrayed him in the worst of ways. He shouldn't feel guilty about being here. But that didn't change the fact that he did.
Today, Thomas was in the library, flipping through history books. There was so much that he didn't know about this world, and it's history, and the things he'd missed. Or maybe they were things that he'd learned, and the Swipe had taken from him. Either way, it was a good way to pass time, and the quiet of the library gave him time to try to make peace with his thoughts.
