WHO: Finch Holland and Charles Xavier WHAT: Looking at Katie and her abilities WHEN: Sunday afternoon WHERE: Finch's home WARNINGS: TBD, likely low STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
Finch had planned to meet with Mr. Xavier before Madison Valley had gone crazy, but had been forced to postpone the meeting. Now that things were back to normal, she desperately wanted to get his opinion on her daughter, and her daughter's abilities. It frightened her, the idea that Katie could do these things. Not because she was frightened of her daughter - no, never that. It was more that she feared for Katie, growing up different. It was never easy to grow up different, and she worried what it would do to the little girl. Madison Valley was a strange place. Among the pool of refugees, she was certain that Katie would be accepted just fine. But among the general population of Madison Valley...well, there were people who weren't as kind or as tolerant. They'd had problems on and off with the local kids and Finch didn't want her daughter to be at the receiving end of that.
She was pacing a bit as she waited for Charles to arrive, but Katie didn't seem disturbed at all. She was sitting on the floor, playing with her blocks, occasionally using her abilities casually when a block was out of her reach. She was humming to herself, making cute little baby vocalizations as she played, as if she didn't have a care in the world.
Finch jumped as she heard the door and hurried to it, opening it with a grateful smile.
"Mr. Xavier," she smiled. "Thank you so much for coming."
