Who: Pam and Elena Where: Walmart When: Sunday Afternoon What: Candy Duty
Though the Pack house was a bit out of range of normal trick or treating, Elena had been given the exciting duty of stocking up on the candy. True, it wasn't just for the kiddies that they may or may not get on Halloween, but for a few of the house residents too. Elena would admit she had a weakness for cheap chocolate candy, particularly Reeses and the mini Hershey bars. Being in charge of picking out the candy, Elena had the ideal opportunity to pick out as much of her favorites as she wanted. It was a silver-lining in an otherwise boring task for Elena. She wasn't much for shopping, regardless of what she was picking up, but the simplicity of candy trek was much more dull. For one, the stores kept the candy up front so there was no challenge, no searching involved in finding the location. If not up front exactly, they had a designated, clear spot where it could be found and large, obnoxious signs to show the way. Even without the signs, a quick whiff of the air would lead to sweetest section of the store. Upon entering Walmart, she realized quickly that would not be the case. There were signs everywhere and stocks of candy near the front of the store.
Pulling out a basket from the ever shortening line, the blond headed for the back of the store. Her guess? It would be less picked over than the front of the store because people were lazy and wouldn't bother walking all the way back when they could grab a large bag just upon entering the store. Following the clever monster paws on the tile, Elena arrived at the relatively large stock quickly and skimmed the remaining choices with bored blue eyes. Why couldn't the Reeses ever be in a big bag? No, instead you had to buy two to even equal out to those 'Child's Play' bags. Grumbling under her breath, Elena reached for two bright orange bags, contents peanut buttery chocolate goodness, and two of the mixed Hershey bar bags. With her own sweet tooth potentially satisfied, she started to look for anything the others might consider interesting. Well, at least there were a decent amount of bags with random things inside. With that many choices, there had to be something that appealed to her Pack members.
Reaching for one of those "mixed" bags, she shook it down, curious to see if everything they stated on the outside would match what was inside. It was obvious a machine put there together and the chances of ending up with everything, equal variety, was far fetched. She was thinking too hard on candy and she knew it, but if she was going to be in charge of candy, she might as well do it right. Shifting the bag again, she spotted the last listed component and dumped it in the cart. You know what would be cool? If they had meat candy. Now, that would be Elena's favorite. Chocolate covered bacon anyone? The thought of bacon in general made her mouth water.
