WHO Amberle & OTA WHAT Running the obstacle course WHEN Late Sunday night WHERE Obstacle Course out in the woods WARNINGS TBD, probably low STATUS Open | Incomplete
Amberle was starting to feel more comfortable being away from the Farm for longer stretches of time, though it wasn't often she ventured into the busier parts of town. The forests were fair game though, particularly the obstacle course. She tended to run the course after the sun set for the day so that it was mostly empty and she would be relatively undisturbed. Every so often, other people would be there already or would happen upon her after she exhausted herself, but even that was getting easier and easier to deal with. People, by and large, weren't that terrible to deal with, she'd found.
Tonight was one of those nights when no one was around as she ran through the obstacle course, taking different paths and testing herself in new ways each time. The Ellcrys wasn't there to guide her movements like it had before, but she was still skilled and she knew there was always room for improvement. She couldn't risk getting sloppy, just in case becoming the Ellcrys wasn't exactly as she'd been told. Given everything she knew, she honestly couldn't trust much about what would happen if she were ever to be returned to her world, so Amberle kept pushing herself harder and faster. She was quickly pushing herself to the breaking point, but she was so focused on getting stronger that she didn't recognize it.
By the time she stopped, a full two laps on the obstacle course later than she should have, she was sweating and desperately needed to catch her breath. Amberle made it to the tree where she'd put her things down and sunk to the ground, before grabbing her water bottle. Her attention was solely on the course and as she thought about her performance during this particular training session and where she could improve. Fifteen minutes was all she could allow herself if she expected to be able to last longer in battle.
