Who: Mary Crawley Crane and OPEN What: Horseback riding Where: Outskirts of town When: Tuesday afternoon Warnings: Probably none
It had been a while since Mary had gone horseback riding, and now that the weather had gotten cooler again, she decided to go out to the stable and ride for a bit. She had been visiting her horse and going on short rides through the heat of summer, but now it was time for a longer one. Mary brushed her mane out and then saddled her before taking her out onto the sides of the more quiet back roads at the outskirts of town.
She had excellent riding posture, her back very straight as she trotted the horse down the road. Having the wind in her hair felt wonderful and she closed her eyes for a brief second to enjoy it. While her horse was not easily startled, Mary knew that she had to be vigilant while riding on the same road as cars. After a bit of trotting, Mary spend the horse up to a gallop. She enjoyed going fast and racing others and wished that they would have some horse races here, though she knew that not as many people rode in this era.
It was quite enjoyable being out on such a nice fall day and Mary smiled at anyone she happened to come across.
