Kili smiled at her as she extended her arm to him, wondering belatedly if he should have stood when she approached the table. He wasn't usually without manners, but the weight of his grief was so heavy that he was having a hard time functioning at anything else through it.
"Good evening, Lady Diana," he said with warmth as he clasped her arm in the warrior's greeting -- trying not to remember that the last time he had done this it had been before he and Fili followed Thorin out to battle. "I'm glad you came." At her statement, he closed his eyes for a moment before opening them and giving her a smile that was still touched with sadness as he sat down.
"Fili. He was five years older than me, but yet we were so very close. They all said that my first word was his name."
