Alex hadn't been lying when she'd said she needed to hit something. This Council thought they could control everything, and that people would just comply? They were wrong. Dead wrong. It wouldn't have even been an issue if Alex had access to her money from home. But she didn't. The money she did have would run out, even if she knew how to live on as little as possible. She was benefiting now to her experience from living on the streets as a teenager, but now it was without the whole junkie mess. Alex was a survivor, and she'd survive this too. It wasn't like she didn't have ways of getting money without actually getting a job, she just hadn't resorted to that yet. She'd invited Tommy to come over, so she was just waiting on him now. She'd moved some furniture so they could spar in the living room a bit, since the gym was out of the question now. It might be fine if they just talked, too. It wasn't like Alex had anything to hide anymore, but it was the principle of the matter. Give into this, and what would she have to give into next? No. She didn't like it. So as long as she knew she could survive on her own? The Council could kiss her ass. She had managed to procure some punching bags, and she'd hung them up. If they couldn't go to the gym, maybe they'd have to make their own. It seemed like some people wanted to help those who couldn't help themselves right now. Most people seemed to be very against doing anything this Council wanted. They'd never asked for this! No one who had been transported here, was here because they wanted to be. The more Alex thought about it all, the angrier she got. And she was more than willing to take it out on the bag while she waited for Tommy. She was restless and uneasy. It seemed to be a war was coming, and they had to be prepared. Tommy's idea of self-defense lessons definitely hadn't been a bad one. And Alex was more than willing to help him out with that. It would help relieve some stress too. There were times here when she wanted to use, so badly. It would help her to deal with all this crap. But so far, she'd resisted. She wouldn't even know where to look for drugs here. She hit the bag a few more times, trying to calm herself. She'd already gotten quite the work out this morning. And as it climbed into the afternoon hours, she saw no reason to stop. But hitting a bag wasn't exactly the same as sparring. |
