Justine's face twisted into a sad smile. How well she knew that. Although, actually, she knew how much she loved Thomas before she lost him - or, at least lost her ability to hold him, to love him as she was so used to doing. Now it had settled in her chest as a miserable ache that she didn't know would ever go away. Still, she yearned to be with him, close to him, close enough that they cover themselves from head to toe and cuddle while watching The Fox and the Hound, or one of the other ridiculous movies he humored her with. She hadn't had much of a childhood, after all.
She scrunched up her face and grabbed the other girl's hand. "Held captive? Justine knew what that was like too. She'd been held captive too many times in the past few years, first by Bianca - who thoroughly intended to kill her, and then as a hostage by Lara, to make Thomas do what she wanted him to. She understand how terrible that could be, how it robbed you of your very agency. "If she shows up, you come move in with me, okay? I'll keep you safe. I know wizards."
She laughed when she mentioned the phone. "If you need help with that, I'd be glad to show you. These are common in my world."
