Belle's eyebrows shot up immediately, and she leaned in a little. "Eight million?" she laughed, eyes widening for a moment. "Well, I suppose we all really are from different worlds then."
She shook her head, looking out at the scenery again. "My village was--perhaps half the size of this place? And Avonlea wasn't much larger, and you had to ride for half a day to get there, and that was if the weather was decent," she shrugged. "But then again, I've been completely by myself for the last few years, so I think any place would feel crowded," she huffed helplessly. "So it's--a bit overwhelming. Lovely, though," she couldn't help smiling. "I haven't gotten to walk like this for years. I will agree with you on the lonely part, though." She hesitated, just a second, before sating her curiosity a bit more.
