Lily Luna was out walking around the town, trying to work her way through so many emotions that she was feeling right now. There had been so many new people from her world that had arrived lately. She was looking forward to meeting Lucretia since Cassiopeia said that she was another girl their age who was quite sensible. That was a relief. She didn’t have a lot of female friends here, and it was a nice thought to know she could make another one. It was even better that it would be a sensible girl. At home, sometimes, most of the “friends” she made among the girls her own age were silly things who just wanted to get closer to James or learn more about her father.
Her father who just wanted a normal life and not to always be reminded of the war and what he and his friends had been through. There were times that she wished her father were here because he would get a little peace. She’d always been a Daddy’s Girl and she wanted to take care of him just as badly as her family wanted to take care of her. In her opinion, Harry needed it more than she did. No one in her family would agree with her, of course, but that was what she thought.
Thankfully, she had Scorpius here with her. She didn’t know what she had been if she had been trapped here away from her family and away from Scorpius. The two of them had a connection between them that might even be stronger than the one her parents had. Her father was the only one that wasn’t surprised about Lily Luna and Scorpius falling in love. He’d been an extra member of their family for so long because of his friendship with Al that it seemed like a natural progression.
Lily Luna’s thoughts moved from thoughts about her father and her boyfriend to thoughts about her family members that had arrived. She’d grown up hearing stories about the brave sacrifices of her grandparents for her dad and how Sirius had been a father figure to Harry when he needed one, but she’d never imagined that she would somehow actually meet them. Not that she had actually met them face to face but she would soon.
They were family, after all.
She moved off the path that she was walking and almost walked into another person.
“I’m dreadfully sorry, I was lost in my own – “ She looked up at the person and all of her carefully planned words fled from her mind. “Oh.”
