Characters: Rebekah and OTA Setting: The park and then heading to Klaus's home. Summary: Rebekah's been invited. She's going. Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Language; maybe a bit of violence.
For all intents and purposes, Rebekah's arrival in Madison had been rather uneventful, except for the actual, mysterious arrival itself. Otherwise, Rebekah had found the park where she appeared completely and utterly normal. There were benches, a pond, and a path running through the entirety of the large property. In the middle, there was even playground equipment with colorful slides and a swingset too. It was currently vacated, but Rebekah guessed most of the children, age appropriate anyway, were probably in school anyway. The park itself was pretty empty too. There were a few elderly residents walking along the paved walk, birds singing, and a light breeze, but otherwise, it was almost silent of heart beats and pulses. Rebekah may have found it pleasant if she wasn't completely creeped out by the lack of life around her. If she had any doubts before of this being a small town, they were completely extinguished after a few moments of all the nearly eeriely quiet.
Thankfully, Rebekah was on her way out, stepping through the entrance and exit of the park with more eagerness than she'd felt in a while. Especially considering where she was headed. Seeing her brother, Klaus, never was a very pleasent experience for herself or any of her siblings. While her elder brother Elijah seemed to believe their half-brother could be saved, Rebekah's faith had long since waned to nearly non existant. After too many times of getting daggered, missing years of her life, and watching Klaus take away the people she'd ever tried to care for, Rebekah wasn't all for jumping on the "Klaus has a heart" train just yet. Like she told Caroline and Elijah, she would believe it when she saw it and experienced more than just once. So what if he took in a teenager? It hardly started to make him into this amazing, lovable person. With Klaus, there was always a catch and with this Marley, there was no doubt one too. No, she'd give him a few days and he'd be threatening her with a dagger or a sickening werewolf bite with his disgusting teeth. Inviting her to his home? It was only because of Elijah and Hayley. Klaus never wanted any of them around, most of all, it seemed, herself.
A few blocks down and Rebekah stopped to ask for directions from a rather friendly looking woman. It was a complete ruse; the woman was downright rude and wouldn't tell her anything at all. People on the network or whatever said that people here were leery of those who'd just arrived and were different. It was starting to look like less and less of a exaggeration and more of a bitter, cold reality. The temperamental sibling barely managed to control the urge to rip the woman's heart out and hold it up, allowing her to watch it stop beating with her wide, dead eyes. Somehow, she managed to turn away, muttering "bitch" under her breath and she took up her pace on the sidewalk. Elijah said he would meet her somewhere so she kept an eye out for her brother who would be more hospitable than these townspeople. As it was, they were looking at her strangely. At least, most were. A few didn't give her a second glance, but some of the older ones were gazing at her with distrust and wariness in their eyes. If they didn't stop soon, Rebekah would give them something to be scared of. According to Caroline, they'd been keeping their fangs underwraps, but Rebekah was hardly incapable of handling herself and one more stare, one more-
Rebekah's hand shot out and the cold, dead fingers wrapped around the slender neck of someone who'd yet again refused her request for assistance. Hell! She'd even been bloody nice about it too. Or, well, as nice as Rebekah could be with being the bitch she actually was. "I just want to know where this address is. I've been nice. I've been friendly. What is the problem?" she hissed at the young woman, now pinned behind the counter of her small shop against the wall.
