WHO: Molly Carpenter and OPEN WHAT: Shopping WHERE: The local shops of downtown Madison Valley WHEN: Sunday morning WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Open/Ongoing
Molly wasn't going to Church. Yeah, her dad would be mad, and yeah, she supposed she believed, but she hated being around all those people and she hated the feeling that no matter what she believed, she could never belong there now. Not as a wizard, and especially not as the Winter Lady. So since it was so close to the Holidays, she decided she'd spend this morning shopping. It wasn't as crowded in the shops on Sunday morning, and since Molly didn't do well in crowds, it was the perfect time for her.
She had Harry to buy for, and Murphy. Lily, she supposed, and she'd pick up a little something for Fix. Thomas and Justine, Carlos...and maybe a few things for some of the people she'd met since she got here. Christmas would be Christmas, wherever she happened to be, but she was already starting to miss her family.
She was in a little nature store, filled with clothes, and bird feeders, and stuffed animals. It was a cute store, and she wondered if she should get Harry a stuffed snowy owl to make him even more like a grown up Harry Potter, or a polartek liner for his duster. One was significantly cheaper than the other, but it didn't make much difference. She had the money and she'd decided already to spend it on gifts.
People moved away as she drew close to them. Probably because the air around her was chilly, or perhaps it was the smell of Holly and pine that radiated from her. Or maybe it was the alien look in her eyes, or her obvious discomfort at being in public, even at a less crowded time. Whatever it was, Molly didn't mind. Distance between her and everyone else was perfectly okay.
Deciding to buy both items for Harry, she made her way to the line, which was considerable, even this early, and stepped into it, holding her purchases tightly.
