People will be polite to you. Not me, but I'm not polite to anyone. I value being straight-forward and honest more than polite. By 'treated well', I meant listened to and truly respected, not addressed properly and things like that. For people to have actual regard for you: Your parents mean nothing in that calculation here.
I don't have negative opinions of you. I don't know you enough yet. Negative opinions of your culture, yes, because I'm looking at it from the bottom of the social order and you're looking at it from the top. People on the top always like how things are: They benefit the most from it. It's like when men talk about how awesome it is to have women doing all the grunt work. You benefit from your social order, of course you like it.
