WHO: Karrin Murphy and Harry Dresden WHAT: Eating and Talking WHERE: Burger King WHEN: Thursday evening STATUS: Open/Ongoing WARNINGS: TBD, likely low
Murphy had certainly been places she liked better than Madison Valley. Born and raised in Chicago, with the lights of the city out her bedroom window, she abhorred the small town life. The slowness of it, the lack of privacy, the lack of options when it came to eating out, or shopping. That lack of options was why she found herself, again, at the Hilltop Burger King with Dresden, picking at the chicken tenders she'd bought and wishing she'd gotten a burger. The chicken tenders were, of course, marginally healthier (marginally), but they didn't get many points for being appealing. Or particularly tasty.
But Dresden was happy here. She inwardly rolled her eyes at his terrible sense of taste when it came to eating. But really, what else was there? They could go to one of the fifteen fast food restaurants...or maybe Bob Evans this time of night. It wasn't like their options were unlimited.
Sighing, she tore her thoughts away from the cuisine, and looked over at Harry. Things hadn't been going so well, lately. His ward had made a deal with a fairy that had left him emotionally dead, and she knew Harry was worrying about what would happen when he got his emotions back. If he got his emotions back. And then there's been that attack over all the people posting their sex lives for everyone to see...and the second attack when she'd happened to agree. They were older than most of the people here, and maybe that made them seem like prudes. Who knew. Whatever it was, she was tired of arguing, and even more tired of being here.
Reaching stealthily across the table, her hand shot out to snag one of Harry's french fries, which looked a thousand times more delicious than her apple fries.
"So," she said, munching her prize, "What are you going to do about the kid?"
