Her gaze flickered to look up at him, almost taken aback by his response. She wasn't sure why she was surprised by his response. She wasn't really sure what she'd been expecting, really. Rick had certainly not seen things the way she had and likely never would. She didn't blame him for that, even if his reaction stung. Even if she hadn't seen it coming. She probably should have. The guy was a former cop, after all.
But she'd been trying to prevent anyone else from getting sick. Lizzie and Mika and Carl and Judith...all of them. Did it make it right, her intentions? She didn't know. She wasn't sure she'd ever know. Maybe she was damned now. Maybe she always was.
"Pretty sure," she whispered, looking down at the floor once more.
