WHO: Stefan and Elena WHAT: Talking and clearing the air so to speak! WHERE: The home that the TVD crew lives in WHEN: Sunday morning WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
Stefan barely slept the night before, then again, he really didn't need sleep. Instead he pretty much stopped himself from going to the house that Caroline lived in with Elena and Damon and Anna. He had hoped that Anna would take away her phone and it seemed that she did, so all was clear, or was supposed to be, but he knew that Caroline was just done. She said it herself. There was only so much someone could take, vampire or not and the years - or year in Caroline's case piled up and it would make anyone question what was really going on. Stefan and his friends had been through a lot in a year or two. Too many life changes and now that they were here, despite all the bullshit that came along with it, it was almost like they could breathe. Almost. Because even if they were somewhere new, even if whatever problems they had in Mystic Falls hadn't necessarily followed them - they were still there.
He was already at a resolution that Elena was never going to come back. That he lost her. There was nothing he could do about it, it just was. She chose Damon and the more he thought about it, the more he could question it and wonder what he could have done differently, but the truth was, he wouldn't. He would always put Damon first, no matter the consequence and that was his downfall. Going off with Klaus to get the cure of the werewolf bite for Damon had started the downward spiral that eventually ruined his relationship with Elena. He had to move on. It was hard though because even talking to her on the network was hard. But, it was something that couldn't really be avoided. He didn't hate her. Not by any means. He'd never hate her, in fact he'd always love her. It was just over, completely.
Which also meant that he couldn't avoid going to the house they all lived in either. He stopped himself from going last night, but today was a different story. He wanted to make sure that Caroline was going to be alright. She'd promised that she was there for him and wouldn't let him slip and it went both ways. Caroline had never turned off her humanity and he honestly didn't think she ever would, but everyone had a breaking point.
The house was pretty quiet as he walked in and he probably figured he should have knocked, but he didn't. He didn't live there anymore, having only stayed for a few days before going to the apartment that was given to him. He could accept that Elena chose his brother, that didn't mean he had to be around to listen to it. Moving through the house easily, he decided to go to the kitchen instead. He figured Caroline would need coffee, especially after last night, so he got that started and turned when he heard footsteps. He saw Elena standing there and he let out a useless breath, his hand reaching behind him to grab the counter, "Hey, I'm uh, making coffee. For you and Caroline." Yeah, alright. Elena was pretty drunk too last night, so the coffee invite stood.
"How are you feeling?" He asked and turned, looking at the coffee pot.
