WHO: Marley Rose and Kvothe WHAT: Rehearsing WHERE: The Park WHEN: Sunday Around Noon WARNINGS: TBD, but probably N/A STATUS: Closed/Ongoing
Marley ended up getting to the park a bit earlier than she and Kvothe had arranged, so she had her script out and was going over her lines. She loved musicals (obviously since she was in a show choir back home) and Rodgers and Hammerstein shows were among her favorites. For the auditions, she had used an Ado Annie song, but was thrilled that she had been cast as Laurey. Being in a show and having music to rehearse was a welcomed thing. What made it even more great was that Kvothe was playing Curly. She had seen the auditions and she wasn't surprised that Kvothe had landed the male lead. The fact that he was easy to talk to and seemed to love music and performing as much as she did helped a lot, too.
She was feeling pretty happy with the way things were going here at the moment. She had a new guardian who actually wanted her around -- and who she had a sneaking feeling could get scary if she needed him to. She also had a feeling that he wouldn't be intimidated out of anything by whoever was in charge here. Her last guardians were ones that wanted to make sure every rule was followed exactly. While Marley wasn't a trouble maker, her guardians always made her feel like some kind of criminal. It wasn't as if coming here was her fault, but the facts never seemed to matter.
Shaking her head, Marley smiled at herself. Things were good right now. New place to live, new guardian, lead in the school musical and new friend in the form of Kvothe. At least, she hoped they were friends or would be friends. Until Glee club, she had been gaslighted a lot, so she wasn't sure when people were actually real friends as of yet.
Marley sat on a swing while she did a scale of warm-ups, and then because she had time, she started working on one of her songs that wasn't a duet with Kvothe.
"Why should a woman who is healthy and strong blubber like a baby cuz her man's gone away..."
