WHO: Karrin Murphy and Shaun Mason WHAT: Looking at bikes, and going shooting WHEN: Saturday morning WHERE: Suzuki Dealership WARNINGS: TBD STATUS: Ongoing/Match-up!
Karrin had been here only a couple of weeks, but she was already missing her bike. The town wasn't big enough that she couldn't walk if she wanted to, but as the days got shorter and colder, it was becoming less and less pleasant to go everywhere on foot. So, even though it was raining a bit, she got up relatively early on Saturday morning and made her way to the Suzuki dealership. It wasn't her favorite kind of bike, but they didn't have a Harley dealer in town, and any bike was better than not having one at all.
She looked from bike to bike, trying to find something that spoke to her. Despite what Harry said, it wasn't the fact that bikes were big, tough vibrators that attracted her to them (although that...might actually be a facet of it. And it was actually true). It was more the fact that the roaring and the power of the bike made her feel...bigger than she actually was. It wasn't easy to be a woman in the Chicago PD...it was even harder to be a tiny, cute woman in the Chicago PD. So she'd done everything she could to make herself tough - and a motorbike was a nice part of the image.
She found one she liked - a larger sort, used, painted red with lightning stripes. Looking at the price tag only gave her a small heart attack, and she wondered if she had any sort of credit rating here. At home, her credit was pristine...but here, she might be starting from scratch, for all she knew.
Searching for a salesman, she threaded her way through the rows of bikes, narrowly missing a young man bent over beside one.
"Oh, sorry," she said, a bit flustered. It would have been a great first impression to the bike shop to knock over a whole row of bikes because she wasn't paying attention.
