What's a homeworld if not somewhere you've lived a long, long time? Obviously you don't consider it where you were born, or you wouldn't think it'd be here. From what you say, it sounds like somewhere you belong, but you can't belong anywhere unless you stay there a while. Nobody gets a magical belonging pass.
Makes sense. Especially with different species. Different circadian rhythms and time-sense.
