WHO: Karrin Murphy and Harry Dresden WHEN: Saturday evening WHERE: Horst's Little Bakery Haus WHAT: Meeting and figuring out what's going on STATUS: Closed/Ongoing WARNINGS: TBD, likely low
Maybe Murphy should have been more surprised than she was at showing up in an alternate dimension, but over the last decade she'd seen so many weird things that honestly she couldn't even say that this was the weirdest. And any surprise she might have had was completely dispelled when she saw Harry's post on the network. When he was around, it was weird if things didn't turn weird.
Not that she was happy about it. She was tired, and it felt like she'd been tired for years. Or at least a year. She couldn't remember the last time everything in the world felt right. Getting kicked from the Force, Harry's death...all of these things had combined to change her life to the point she hardly recognized it anymore.
And then there was Harry himself. The fucking Winter Knight. What was she to do with that? He'd been powerful and intimidating enough when he didn't have stupid Faerie powers to make him so much stronger and so much more dangerous. And it needlessly complicated things for them. Not that there was a 'them', of course. And it wasn't because she didn't care for him. She probably loved him more than any man she'd ever dated, and certainly more than the ones she'd married. But it had just never seemed the right time, they always seemed to miss each other somehow.
But that wasn't important now. What was between them was between them, and there wasn't time for it now. There were more important things to deal with at the moment, and she wasn't about to let her life collapse around her because of something ridiculous like romance. She'd fought too hard to be where she was to do that.
"So. You've been here months," she said, starting with no introduction or small talk, "And yet I saw you just a few hours ago." She raised an eyebrow, obviously asking him what gives?
