Stiles was always surprised with himself for settling into his new surroundings so quickly. Usually he struggled with this kind of thing, but having most of his pack here had been the best thing for him. Of course, there would always be things that he missed abotu Beacon Hills, but there was no reason that he couldn't make a new life for himself here. He had even managed to find himself a job working in security, and even though it wasn't exactly the same he was very pleased with it. Getting settled in with his new job and dealing with the training wasn't exactly a cake walk, so he decided that he deserved dinner out for the evening. After all, he would be making his own money now and wouldn't have to worry about running out of funds any time soon. Since this was supposed to feel like a reward meal, he decided to go with Hinkles. He had often thought that this was the best place in town for a good burger and that was what he was in the mood for. So, right around dinner time he was walking through the door and checking around for a table. Fortunately they didn't seem very busy, so he made his way inside. His first impression had been right, and he was able to find a table right away. He made his way up to the counter, ordered himself a burger with onion rings and a large shake. This was supposed to be a reward after all, so he was going all out. He would worry about any consequences later. Though usually for him that just meant being a little more hyper for a while. He could always go for a walk or even head to the gym if he needed to burn off some extra energy. A few minutes, he made his way back to the table he had selected with his food and shake in his hands and he chose the seat facing the door. This would allow him to see the comings and goings, and while he knew that Madison had been realtively safe he still coudn't bring himself to completely let his guard down. He had been surprised by what the world could throw at him one too many times. |
