April 20-26 Cherry Blossom Trees are all over town and it's beautiful (if you love that sort of thing). The weather every day is like a warm spring day and there is no snow or soggy ground. The park is especially beautiful during this time. There are places with picnic tables, but you can also bring blankets and chairs to hang out under the trees. A few nights there will be hosted picnics where sushi and other traditional Japanese food will be served.
You will be able to participate or experience in tea ceremonies, ikebana (flower-arranging classes), sake tasting, geisha dances, taiko drumming, kimono demonstrations, and access Japanese cuisine. There will also be a Kite Flying event, a Haiku competition, and at the end with Fireworks!!
