The day had gone as any other would. He got up early in the morning and meditated, spending time with his zhiji. It was nice to be able to wake up to Jiang Wanyin beside him. He knows, too, what the day was bound to entail when he did return home from work. Lady Jiang was bound to do something special too. It was just the way that the young woman was. Something that he admired about his sister-in-law.

Work, of course, went without a hitch as it always did. They'd yet to get a bad customer. Even though he knows that could easily change. Something he wouldn't really look forward to. No one looked forward to a bad customer. He also made sure to get a few different blends in. Something for Alfred, as it were. Along with different herbal teas that would help one sleep.

Once they're settled and the store was locked up he gives his brother a soft smile," Do you have an intended place for us to be, Wangji?"

Lan Wangji enjoyed owning a store with his brother. Their store was something that he could never have imagined having back home. Here, he had his zhiji, his brother, Wanyin and Yanli. The five of them had a good family.

However, there were times that liked spending time with just his brother. He and Xichen had always been the ones there for each other no matter what was going on in their lives. He was glad that they still had that even here in Madison Valley.

"Mn," he said with a nod in response to his elder brother's question. "Wen Kexing has arranged for us to have a nice table at his Empress of China."

Lan Wangji had made the arrangements with his friend several days ago for his brother's birthday.

Owning quite nice. Something that Lan Xichen enjoyed. The fact that he could have something like this with his little brother was nice too. Madison Valley, to him, had done them some good. It had gotten them away from their uncle too. Something that he was grateful for. His brother did not need to be around that man. Nor did Master Wei. Neither of them did.

"That's very nice of him," He states with a smile. Empress of China was an amazing restaurant. Though, he's sure that they were both rather biased when it came to the place. Wangji more so than him. Though, that was due to his brother being good friends with Master Wen.

Lan Wangji loved their uncle, but he had realized over the past few years that he did not like the man. He and his brother were much happier without him being around. He was also glad that Wei Ying did not have to worry about running into him and trying to hide himself.

Wei Ying and Xichen should never feel like they had to hide or be someone else for anyone. Wangji would not allow someone to make his brother or his zhiji feel like that ever again. (Just because Xichen had never said anything did not mean that Wangji had never thought it.)

"Master Wen agreed that dinner for your birthday should be special."

Wen Kexing had been the first friend Wangji had made on his own in Madison and he valued that friendship.

"Wanyin and Yanli know not to expect you for dinner tonight, but I believe our sister will be making you a dessert."

Lan Xichen would understand where his brother was coming from. Both of them loved their uncle. That did not, however, mean that he liked how strict the man was. The man had always wanted his little brother to be the perfect soldier. It would've worked too had his brother not met Wei Wuxian. The boy who turned his brother's world around. One who taught his brother that not all rules had to be followed.

"Master Wen did not have to go through the trouble," He states softly. If he was being honest then he did not expect anyone to go through the trouble. Not when he was content to just spend the day with his family. That was all that he needed.

The mention of Yanli, however, has him giving a smile," I'm sure that Lady Jiang will come up with something just as amazing."

"She has a way with food like we do with tea and music," Wangji said quietly. "It has done all of us good to be here and it has made our family more blessed to have such a sister here with us."

Wei Wuxian had shown Lan Wangji that there was more to life than being a soldier -- and that he would be loved unconditionally even if he wasn't perfect. With the exception of Xichen, no one had offered him that before. Perhaps that was why he had always made sure to take an interest and a hand in the instruction of Sizhui.

And with Sizhui came Jingyi.

"Master Wen said that it was no trouble to help celebrate your birthday, brother."

It was true. Jiang Yanli had a way with food like what they had with tea and music. The young Lady Jiang could never go wrong, in his eyes, when it came to food. She loved cooking and there was always food in their home. He wouldn't be surprised if she took food out to others that wanted or needed it. "If only others were here, as well." More like the Juniors than their uncle or the Jiangs. He wished, really, that Jin Ling could be there and get to know his mother too.

There's a soft hum out of him," I am grateful for friends such as Master Wen." Even if he didn't know the man as well as his brother did. Nor did he think the other had need to celebrate any birthdays that were not his own. Or those of his family that were not there. "Perhaps we should find out when Master Wen's birthday is. So that we may do something for him."

"Each day I keep a hope that our boys will show up to be here with us," he confessed to his brother. "Sizhui, Jingyi... Jin Ling. I would also like it if Ouyang Zizhen were to arrive as I do not think that the juniors would be happy if any of their number was not here with them."

The boys had become a close unit and Wangji would never want them to have to be separated. He also wanted Jin Ling and Sizhui here so that they could learn about the rest of their family and their history. It would probably do the boys good to see how happy they were here -- and to see Jiang Yanli alive and thriving in this place.

Wangji nodded. "I will ask him when his birthday is and if I need to, I am sure Wei Ying will help us get the information so that we can do something nice for a friend."

"It would be nice to have them here," Xichen states with a soft smile. The juniors being around would do them all some good. Even if he's sure Jin Ling would worry about Sect Leader Jin things. Here, in Madison Valley, he'd be able to be a teenager. Be able to get to know his mother. That? It was what they'd want the most.

He knows how close the four boys were. Ouyang Zizhen was always close to the boys, at all times. Something that was nice to see. Then again seeing Jingyi and Sizhui make friends was a nice idea too. Something he'd want for them.

"Mn. Do that. Then we can do something for Master Wen."

"I think that Wanyin and Wei Ying would very much like to have them here, as well." He knew that his beloved would be overjoyed to see his sister and nephew be able to know each and interact on a daily basis. He also knew that Wei Ying missed their son.

For Sizhui would always be their son. No matter how old he became or how many family members they were able to find for him.

"Mn. We may even be able to surprise him one day."

"They would like to have them here," He says with a bit of a smile. It would be nice for the juniors to be there. For Master Wei to even have his son around. Something that he's sure would make his brother and the other happy. Just as he knows himself and Wanyin would take Jingyi in if he showed up.

At the mention of surprising Master Wen he gives a bit of a nod," Perhaps we will be able to." Though, he did not know how easy it would be to surprise the white haired immortal.

When they do get to Empress of China he gives a soft smile and opens the door so they can walk in.
