Jenna felt like she was back in undergrad with only an hour of sleep if that, and still wide awake ready to go. Before the lack of sleep would be from being out all night partying, getting high, or a mix of both. This time it was nerves and her brain not wanting to turn off as she went over what she needed to do for her education and career goals. After taking on the role of guardian, her ambitions moved into the slower lane due to all her new responsibilities. Never once did she mind or even care considering she’d do anything for Jeremy and Elena. Jenna’s only worry was that she’d screw them up or prove herself as the worst guardian known to mankind. Now, Elena was eighteen, Jeremy wasn’t here, and she knew her death was waiting at home. This gave her motivation and time to finish what she had started back in her world.
Wide awake and unable to sleep, it gave Jenna plenty of time to make sure she looked like the responsible adult she was meant to be before she met with Adam. Having gone shopping the day before, she dressed in a black knee length skirt with a blouse and shoes, clipping her hair up and out of her face. Jenna checked herself in the mirror, ensuring she looked fine before grabbing her stuff and heading to the clinic with plenty of time to spare. Before entering, she switched her phone to silent to avoid the embarrassment of her phone going off. Once she entered, she smiled at the person behind the desk. “Hello, I’m Jenna Sommers, and I had an appointment with Adam this morning?”
