She had an interesting face. It wasn't one thing alone that made it interesting, though the eye patch was what had drawn his attention as he sat in the coffee shop sketching but the expression was what had him lingering.
Had him flipping to a new page and starting to draw.
Every line, every shade of gray and black, he could see in his head exactly what he could do if his hand just cooperated and sighed frustrated when it shook and he had to stop and massage the palm with the drawing partially complete. His had was getting better, but it still got tired too easily to do this for long.
He went back to his sketch once his hand stopped cramping, sipped his coffee and went back to contemplating the woman, he russet hair and pale skin. The melancholy that seemed to hang about her like a mist, the local air temp almost visibly cooler. It was obviously all in his imagination, but it made it onto the page the sketch as he added blue pencil and highlights.
Eventually he was done, packing up his backpack, massaging his hand again and then on a whim he snapped a picture of it with his phone and walked over to offer it to her.
"Sorry to bother you, but I thought you might want this."
