Who: Johanna Mason and Inej Ghafa What: Just randomly meeting When: Wednesday afternoon Where: The library Warnings: TBA Status: Closed/On-going
Johanna wasn't the world's biggest book reader, but she also wasn't some completely uncultured swine. She liked reading, she just didn't have time for it -- so she wasn't going to waste her time or money on books that might very well be terrible. Therefore? The library. At least with the library, if she didn't like a book she could just take it right back and call it a day.
Yes, she could return a book at the bookstore, but it was more hassle and not a guarantee and just why deal with that?
The only problem came when she had no damn clue what she wanted to read. Sometimes she came armed with recommendations from any one of a half dozen people, sometimes she just kind of left it up to the universe. That was never a bad thing, but sometimes the universe just took a whole lot longer to figure it out. She wasn't going to argue with it, though, because she didn't need the universe and the dome having conversations with each other.
This particular trip, she was solving the dilemma by poking the new release shelves. Selections had gotten a lot more interesting since the whole jump into the future, which meant she was contemplating a few books that probably wouldn't have existed before then. One of the more fascinating things about the place.
