Not having her mother or sister around had been a lot for her to deal with. She had really just started to settle into a routine again after losing Wednesday and then everything had went to hell again. Of course, she had been through a lot in her life, so she was quite used to having to bounce back by now, but that didn't mean she wouldn't like a break. The only thing that she could keep thinking was that at least Hope and Landon were still here, and there was also the fact that she had made some other friends as well. As cheesy as it may sound, it really was easier to handle all of this with the support they gave her. As much as she sometimes still felt alone, she knew that she really wasn't. She had people in her life that would always be in her corner, and she also knew that there was always the chance that her family could show back up. So, she was trying her best to continue making a life for herself here, and hope for the best. A big part of that was trying to do things that she enjoyed without feeling guilty that her family wasn't here to enjoy it with her. She knew that wherever they were, they were taking care of one another and that they would want her to take care of herself as well. So, she decided take advantage of the weekend and head out to get some coffee and do some shopping for new clothes. Fashion really wasn't her thing, but she did have her own sense of style and she knew that treating herself to something like this was something that both her mother and her sister would have encouraged her to do. So, that was the main reason that she had chosen this for her first attempt at doing 'normal things' again. She hadn't wanted to rush things, so she took a nice long hot shower before getting dressed and heading out. Of course, she had made sure to leave a note for her new guardian, because the last thing she wanted to do was worry anyone. The walk to Starbucks had be pleasant enough, and she made her way inside with more of a smile on her face than she had managed in days. She made her way up to the counter, ordered her drink and a pastry and then made her way to the end of the counter to wait on them to call her name. Fortunately, she seemed to have gotten there at just the right time, because they weren't too busy. Less than ten minutes after making her order, she heard her name called so she made her way over to the counter. Instead og getting it go, she had placed it for her to allow herself some time to enjoy the morning. So, with drink and pastry in hand, she made her way over to a nearby table and took a seat. |
