Living farther outside town than he used to meant that it took a little while for him to get to his destination, which meant he had time to think about where he was going and why. He still wasn't sure what had happened, but when Billy had run off so abruptly he'd been left to think, as though whatever fever dream of a TV show they'd found themselves in had a lesson he was supposed to be learning.

At least there hadn't been a laugh track, he wouldn't have been okay if there had been a laugh track.

He hadn't realized until that morning a week before that he felt anything deeper for than the obvious for his friend, but it was very on theme for him to realize he might have caught feelings just in time for the world to return to glorious technicolor. Where things were way less likely to time up into neat happy endings within the half hour.

He had no idea what he was going to say when he knocked on Butcher's door, he would decide when he saw the man.

Butcher wasn't exactly sure what to expect from Hannibal's visit that evening. Or what to expect from their discussion. He knew he had feelings for the other man -- even though it had taken the other man's words to make Butcher's feelings register. To make Butcher more aware of the fact that he did have feelings for Hannibal.

That was something he had not expected.

He also had not expected to press a firm, longing kiss against Hannibal's lips when he opened the door. A kiss that possibly portrayed his feelings for the man more than his words could. ...but that is exactly what happened. He kissed Hannibal, before uttering a single word.

Then he stepped aside, to allow Hannibal inside the apartment. Still not having said anything. He wasn't exactly sure what to say.

Oh. Okay. He stepped past the other man into his apartment and then turned back, arched a brow, almost smiled because the kiss had said something. Considering how crap both of them were at words, even though Hannibal hardly ever shut up, the nonverbal was probably a better bet for them anyway.

"You asked me to kiss you." And then he was, cupping Billy's jaw with one hand, the other tangling in the hair at his nape, this kiss saying as much as the first one.

"You were too slow," Butcher said, before returning Hannibal's kiss. It really was a lovely kiss -- one different than the others he'd received from the man. It said a lot about Hannibal's feelings for him, and Butcher found that he was not opposed to those feelings. He didn't feel the urge to flee from Hannibal's feelings, or from his own.

"Be with me," he murmured. He didn't mean sexually, not this time.

This was not something he was accustomed to -- admitting to having feelings, especially for another man. All he knew was that he wanted Hannibal. He wanted to wake up next to the other man again. He wanted more than just a sexual relationship with him.

He kissed Hannibal once more, pulling him closer as he did so.

He almost argued, because Billy hadn't given him more than a half second to make the first move but then the other man was kissing him again.

"Yes." In any way he wanted. He'd forced himself not to feel things for a long time. Abby had changed that, and the Nightstalkers, but they were dead and she wasn't here. If she was things might be different, or maybe this was inevitable.

He sort liked the idea of inevitability he decided, inhaling raggedly as the other man pulled him closer and kissed him a third time. They should probably talk about what this meant but at the moment he didn't have the words.

"Yes." He said again, with more feeling.

Butcher knew they should be adults and use their words, but he wanted to kiss Hannibal more at the moment. He enjoyed kissing Hannibal. He really, really wanted to kiss the other man. He pressed against Hannibal, kissing him deeply. Finally he discovered he needed to come up for air. Despite whether he wanted to or not. Bloody needing to breathe air.

After a moment, he started to speak. "I'm bad at relationships," he admitted. "They've always ended horribly but... I've never had a relationship with a man before." Perhaps that's what had been missing. He'd only been in ones with women.

"I want to try. With you."

He hadn't meant to develop feelings for Hannibal. Hell, he hadn't meant to even have sexual relations with him. But... things happened, and there they were.

He was a little breathless, not sure if it was because of needing to breathe or what Butcher was saying. Probably both. He didn’t think he cared though. He knew he didn’t care about how bad the other man might be at relationships. Wanting to try was enough.

“Bill, my last relationship literally started with my murder.” His bar for bad in a relationship was really fucking low. He’d technically had a relationship with a man in Asher, but that hardly counted. It hadn’t been by choice and this was.

“Wasn’t looking to catch feelings and… I’m just as clueless as you about how this might work but I’m willing to see if it does.”

"I don't think either of us were looking to catch feelings when we began this..." Butcher knew he certainly wasn't. All he'd wanted was a blowjob at first. ...then it evolved in wanting to be fucked. Then catching feelings for Hannibal. It was definitely not planned.

He pressed his lips against Hannibal's once more, wanting to kiss him yet again. It was quite possibly the first time he'd willingly kissed him without taking him to bed with him the first thought on his mind.

Well. The first few times tonight were as well.

"Then let's try," he murmured. "What will it hurt?"

It could very well hurt, if it didn't work out he'd lose a friend as well as whatever more this might be. He din't have enough friends for that to be anything less than worth considering.

But it was too late to try to not feel more than friendship (and lust) for the other man so he might as well go for it. They might as well go for it.

His answer was to kiss Bill again, long and slow. "We're at your place, so if you try to run off in the morning, there's no where for you to go."

Which was his way of asking if he could stay the night, even if all they did was this. And sleep.

"Why would I want to leave in the morning?" He kissed Hannibal again. "The only person I'd want to see in the morning would already be here with me." And another kiss. Yes, this was Butcher's way of saying yes, Hannibal could definitely stay the night.

"Unless, of course, you have other plans for tonight..."

He doubted it, but just in case. Butcher ran his fingers through Hannibal's hair, kissing him one last time. "Stay here with me. I won't leave in the morning."

"You can do that here," he suggested. "I have beer. I can find us trashy television." Both sounded like excellent choices, really. Both things that Butcher knew Hannibal liked. So he was more than willing to oblige.

He continued to run his fingers through Hannibal's hair, enjoying the fact that the other man seemed to like the touches. "Not leaving you," he said. "Not in the morning. Stay tonight."

He didn't even care if there was sex involved. Which was a first for Butcher.

	There had been a time that he hadn't liked being touched, not in any way but particularly not gently. Or with any feeling that wasn't violence. It had fucked with his bead too much. "Perfect," he said, with a small smile. "We can watch whatever trash TV your heart desires and I have plenty of beer..." He didn't even care if they fucked or not -- he just wanted Hannibal to stay the night. And be happy about the fact that he'd stayed the night.

"We can even order take out or something if you want."

Because he couldn't cook to save his life. He just knew he would be hungry at some point tonight. So take out sounded like a good enough idea to him.

Hell Hannibal was happy for the invite, true they'd woken up together a handful of times but usually it was situational as opposed to invitational. A result of a late hour and no one feeling like getting dressed and going home and not a request to stay.

"I am going to convert you into a believer as to the merits of trash TV," and probably necking on the couch, he hasn't done that since he was a teenager and it sounds like a primo idea.

"You're going to convert me to a trash TV believer, then?" he asked, smirking slightly. "I cannot say I will become a convert, but I will try. For you." He placed a kiss on Hannibal's jaw, then headed toward the living room.

He was definitely going to give it a shot.

At least there was that, right? He wasn't always willing to give people a shot. Not with trash TV, at least.
