Dream listened to Lisbeth explain her dreams. Dreams that were, at their core, memories. The mind and subconscious was not always the easiest to navigate and understand. The most plausible explanation was that some part of her had not moved past what those memories contained.
"There may be something about those memories you haven't faced. It could be that it indeed tries to reach you in your waking hours, but your defenses are high and whatever it is can't penetrate them. When you are asleep, your defenses are down and those memories can come through," Dream explained. He had yet to venture into her subconscious. He hadn't ventured into a lot of people's dreams here.
